Hello to all,

I find this 2008D cent which took my attention on the first 20x magnify. the I took some picture more closer and I am not sure if it is a variety or simple hazard. Take a look and your expert opinion will always be appreciate.

and at 250x images:

We ignore the parallels lines from the die polish which are more accentuate on the LIBERTY and continues on the shoulder.

Thanks,
Silvio

Just water spots. If they were a lot smaller, they would be sneeze droplets.

Coop, very educative answer, appreciate and take note of.

Spill is spill, but this "dot" is ~perfect round and it is relief. What is your opinion?

I definitely see what coop is referring to on your coin and he is absolutely correct. Any type of small moisture drops or bodily fluid contaminates on a shiny BU coin will no doubt cause discolored spots that cannot be removed. Believe me.... I learned the hard way. I do see the 'dot' you are talking about to the left of the mint mark. I'm thinking that it may possibly be a plating bubble or blister being that this is a Zinc cent. It looks like there may be other small bumps on your coin as best as I see which leads me to believe this is a plating issue. It appears there is a small black hole in the dot you are referring to which would further mean it is a raised bubble due to the copper coating on a zinc cent. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I love your explanation, almost the second part which make scientific point of those plating coins. Very impress with the both answers. Sharp eyes, and a lot of experiences. Thanks.
