Hello All, I was digging through some coin rolls and came across this 1950 S Quarter with serious toning. Does this make it worth any more than its silver value? thanks in advance.

Guessing the coin was once cleaned and is now toning back in unnatural rainbow colors.

Highly unlikely.

Funny thing about coin collectors. Some go nuts for toning. If this coin were offered on ebay, it's quite likely one would get more than melt value for it. Deep into 3 figures? Likely not, but 5-15 dollars? Maybe. I wouldn't mind having it in my collection.

if it were well kept, it would have possibilities. in it's condition, no added value. still worth it's weight in silver though!

Don't know how much interest there would be on a circulated 50-S with toning. I imagine there's people on ebay that would over bid it.

Id spot-grade this as an F-15, and I do not see any evidence of the S/D over mint mark, which would bring a nice premium.
