Browsing through ebay and found this. Am I missing something, because this coin has got to be the worst over grade I've seen in a while. It doesn't win any eye appeal trophies either... what do you guys think?

Something is off. The Liberty in the headdress is completely gone, for one.

If you look closely, you can tell there is more detail than is quite visible in the photo. I pulled up the NGC cert number from the slab and again, the picture isn't awesome, but you can clearly tell that the feathers, liberty, and hair have a fair bit of remaining detail.

Seems to me that if the seller wants it to go anywhere they're gonna need better photos.
Rest in Peace

I have to agree with jpbone . The entire bust of Indian is flat except for some facial features . Can't tell if shield lines are showing enough for a 45 . I think NGC went by the rim and denticles on this coin to come up with that grade .

I'm with PNWType, I don't think the seller is doing themselves any favors with the photos.

Actually, these are the type of ebay sells that you can get at a good price. I've purchased stuff that had bad pictures only after checking the pictures on NGC/PCGS. If its been listed for a while sometimes the seller will take a better price.

I don't think the photos are doing this coin any favors. Some diffused lighting would do wonders imho.

The shield looks flat and the facial details are almost gone. Sometimes they give a coin a bump for eye appeal. Well, eye appeal in this coin is non existent. All kinds of spots and stains.

Looks like a perfect candidate for someone who buys the holder instead of the coin.
