Yes, looks like a base metal copy (cast, most likely) of perhaps the most famous ancient silver type, with Herakles wearing a lion skin headdress on the obverse, and Zeus seated left on a throne, holding an eagle, on the reverse. Although the general type is heavily faked, in this case it's probably as Spence suggests, "made-for-jewelry" with no real attempt at fakery. More of a celebration of an iconic ancient coin, I suspect. Report this Post to the Staff
