I've discovered some of the RCM's older offerings recently...now to buy a few more to display. Edited by tripoli 03/10/2021 4:40 pm

the confederation anniversary animal designs never struck me as anything too inspirational, but that gilding really does add to it. The RCM does lots of fun stuff with their coinage, and I'd never seen this before, very pretty indeed

@tripoli: Congrats on your purchase! Very nice! It's nice to read that you are starting to add older RCM releases to your collection. I've always held the belief that coin collecting involves more than just collecting the latest releases. I don't typically purchases the RCM's over-sized coin-medals, but I did succumb to the temptations of one a few years back. I've always liked Alex Colville's design for the 1967 silver dollar, so I took the plunge on the "big coin" version.

Love the textured fields of goose Dollar. A bird form of a Lancaster bomber. An yes, a friend's car was bombed from 5,000 feet. Right onto the windscreen at 60 mph on the motorway!

There are PM versions of each denomination of Canadian coin 1967 designs now. They look good to me but I have not bought any yet.

If interested this sort of Mint product, best bought (most often at a much reduced price), in the numismatic aftermarket.

I caved and bought the 1967 1-cent in gold, but they decided to follow the series for 1/10th of an ounce, so it has a reeded edge, which seems weird to me.

I don't collect 5c, but I always was impressed with Canada striking a commemorative coin in 1951, so I did buy this one from the same series as the original post.
