Hi guys,

I have this 1929 Lincoln Wheat penny with what appears to be a die break or die chip between the letters "I" and "B" and a filled in "B" on the Obverse. Can someone confirm that it is, in fact, a die break?

If so, is this uncommon for a 1929 Wheat penny? I see there is no reference for it on Cuds and Coins.

Looks like a comet came in from the east hitting the west side of this coin. PSD. The flattening of all the devices are from the many years this coin spent in circulation.

I'll defer to your judgement, Coop, but the IB looks to me like it could be a die chip. The L is certainly damage.
