Split copper plating most likely caused by MD.

Full photos of the coin's obverse and reverse might reveal a bit more of what may be happening. Given the pics posted, I agree--a brew of split plating.

Thanks for the input. Before I lay out this cent to another round of pictures, as I am unable to so now, how would you explain the N in One having a lower left shoe? If it were a DDR that shoe would not exist and the lower left N line would then extend its full length showing it slightly lower than its counterparts?

That is also split plating. Not a DDR. Split plating happens more on the upper hemisphere on these plated cents.
