Ya I got to see what everyone is gonna say. This is a copper coin I just pulled from a dime roll. Looks like a LC but the size of a dime. Obverse and reverse, are smooth, and looks like a painters palettel. Coin weighs 2.4, and also the coin has reeds. On one of the sides you can see where another coin was struck but just the rim of the coin.I will just post the pics.

Looks like a ground down cent coop is always talking about, where they would make a cent smaller (by grinding or filing) to imitate a dime to use in soda machines. It wouldn't need to fool humans, only the soda machines The "coin" need only be roughly diameter and weight of a dime. I am sure coop can explain all this better than I am. This could be just a terribly rough parking lot coin (extreme PMD), but being so close to the size of a dime, this could be one of these weird coins. We see these here about once a week or so. Cool find.

Sll that mangled meat on the obverse and reverse is smooth. Not a parking lot coin. Maybe I do get the poormand dime for a soda, but I cant wrap my head around how the obverse and Reverse looks. Looks like the grabbed a handful of copper shavings and pressed it together, and put a collar on it.

It probably just clogged up the vending machine and no one could use it until the coin was removed. Canadian coins were sticking to the magnets in the machine back then. No soda today, unless someone could remove the errant coin. (Glad those days are gone)

You think this could be a Canadian dime? It does make sence trapped in the a coin machine by magnet. I will do the magnet test when I get home. Will be able to get it under the scope. I got it out of a bank roll of dimes from the bank and I'm out of town til this evening

No, you can clearly see Lincoln's bust in your first photo and it has copper like you first stated, with zinc showing where the copper plating has been scraped away.

Just a badly damaged cent.
You might never know exactly what happened to it or why but the main thing is that
it could not have happened during the striking of the coin so it is PMD
