I'm thinking this is struck through copper foil near the date. Am I interpreting that right?

Not sure, but it looks like something on the coin like a dried liquid.

looks like corrosion to me. if you can zoom in more can probably pass it off as moon landing footage.

Wondering mostly about the filled D. What would cause that if it was corrosion? Not saying the coin is not corroded...

1930 D has a known filled D. caused by a die chip inside the D.

Looks like it could potentially be a lamination as well. Wear makes it tough to tell. OP with it in hand would be best at determining.
