I realize this coin has nasty damage from a rolling machine, but I only paid $4.25 for it and that's a fine clip on there. I'm willing to buy the error and not worry so much about if the coin had some misadventure as an end coin in a roll back in the day.

Nasty is a bit strong in my book for that level of damage on a 54 year old coin. What a great looking coin! Thank you for sharing!

quote error-ref: "ragged clips are sometimes referred to as "end of sheet" or "end of strip" clips" end of quote.

In my opinion your coin is not from the end of the strip. I go more for the begin of the strip. WHY? because you have the ragged strip and a very nicer one, but in the same time you have exfoliation detached. This in general is happened in the begin of the strip where most of the melting impurities are.

Look up to the "UN" and you will see detached exfoliated signs.

For what I see under "S" from states and from "LI" till border of ragged miss part I can not pronounce. Those parts are high and do not have sign of lamination.

This kind of ragged coins from begin of strip are really rare to see, and another thing: In general the ragged of the end of strip are more strait then your. Supper coin.

Love these ragged clips and find them intoxicating with so many surfaces to explore.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Great find TB. The roll mark doesn't bother me on a ragged clip like that at all.
