Post here any coins or currency you received for the holiday season either from a loved one or from someone from this forum, or you went and bought it yourself

I'll start it off.

Received 6 US Large Cents (1824x2 both AG, 1828 holed, 1829 poor, 1847 (nice F), 1848 cull) in the mail from an ebay transcation. This was my present to myself. Filled one of the holes in my collection (1824).

Unless I stumble across some of the Buffs I am looking for, I think that I am going to wait to buy myself my x-mas presents. There is an auction coming up around here that has yet to set a date, but they already have a ton of nice CC Morgans and some nice capped busts, so I might just wait for that unless I find something I really can't live without.

My sister is giving some old copper: A couple large cents, a Flying Eagle, and a 2 cent piece.

Nice sister huh?

I got a 200frf from a trade from a jeweler who needed some coins to make a bracelet.

I felt bad and told her the real value of the note and the coins, but she just smiled and said "Merry Christmas"

I just used my Christmas Bonus to buy the 2007 and 2008 Silver Proof Mint Sets. They are nice to look at but no real investment.

I recently accepted a position with a Security Company, we work mostly on Perimeter Security Systems in Prisons. To make a long story short I've not had a day off since I started.

Today I went to the 2 coin stores that are local to me and found my Christmas present(s).

All Bust Halves 1813, 1819, 1820, 1824, 1826, 1827, 1831, 1832, 1834, 1836.

Nothing US sorry, but earlier in the week an '96 Aussie mint set, a 2 ounce silver Kookaburra, both from ebay and a very nice '32 Canadian cent from KurtS. Today from the kids a 2001 Centenary of federation proof set and a 2009 baby proof set.

Besides my secret Santa gift, The coins I get for Christmas are rolls to look through. Both on my side of the family and on my wife's side we all get together to celebrate Christmas. At both parties I am told I'm the easy gift because they know they can give me money in the form of cent and nickel rolls. I look through the rolls and then what is left over I have to buy a coin. This year I have $168 to look through and then spend. On top of that, my wife gives me a wrapped box each Christmas with all of the stuff she pulls out of circulation during the year and saves for me. This year there were star notes, wheat cents, nickels (1958 and before) and silver coins. So I always have a fun filled coin Christmas.

I don't let my numismatically challenged family and friends buy me coins.

So out of No Where my parents bought me the greatest if I have ever received!

Hey MTN, have fun with that curve. I got one and it changed my life! I got 5 rolls of dateless buffalos, a loupe set, a coin collecting stocking (from Borders), and a bunch of accessories for my curve. Merry Christmas everyone!!
