So what's it to be? A predecimal or decimal? An error or specimen?
I'll start....
Currently, I own a QEII one pound HK65 last prefix in VF. I paid $495 for it almost two years ago.

I am not into serious collecting of banknotes other than the odd one here and there but nothing of real significance. I doubt also if anyone will post in a public forum, high value items that they own due to security reasons.

Good point....my idea (or so it seemed at the time), was to start a thread but upon closer thinking, (strange how it always happens AFTER the moment), it's very doubtful anyone would post valuable items on a public forum. I'll go sit in the corner with my face against the wall for a while......

I do not know of too many ozzie banknote collectors on the forum.
Maybe with your help this can change.
Can I ask what do you consider to be your most prised banknote? Do you have a scan of it?
Also do you collect any error banknotes?

I only have about a dozen, some are predecimal, that I kept from when we had the changeover to decimal, some are pre poly and some are poly I don't believe any of the decimal notes are worth more than face value. One day I'll dig out the predecimal and check ou the value. So far Your one bank note beats my dozen, I'' fold

I presume you're talking about your decimal notes? (not being worth more than face value).

As above, the last prefix one pounder, (to date) is my most prized note. At least in monetary terms....no pun intended there. I do have a scan of it on a database somewhere, haven't yet worked out how to post pics onto the forum, I'll get to that later. Error notes don't really interest me. I figure that the occasional note that falls through the QC cracks may look different for whatever reason but it doesn't interest me. Then again, people also collect things that interest only themselves.

Hi, I collect Australian Banknotes both pre-decimal and decimal and I have a reasonable collection. I also collect aussie coins. Seem to swap each month and work on coins one month then notes the next.

I have a few decimal banknotes from Australia, but my most prized note is a 1935 $1 from Sarawak. I don't know if it has any great value. Maybe someone out there could advise me. It has been folded and has some small holes where the folds meet. Question: Can you iron a note to get the fold out? Here are the scans. Steve

Ironing a note would only be useful if you wanted the note as a coaster or souvenir for your desk. Unless done by a professional, I'd stay away from ironing. Even a dealer would advise against it.
