Found this nickel, it's beat up bad . The lettering is thicker than another 1989 nickel I compared it too and it also has a line running through the edge of it . The D mint mark is almost touching the 9.

The line running through it is quite common as it is caused by a coin rolling/ wrapping machine.
The D mm is hand punched and can be anywhere in that area.

And with all that I'm seeing a hint of Die Deterioration --especially on the obverse.
