RUDE is not and wasNOT AN INFERENCE to anything you directly said, check back on all who posted, the only reason I stated "think about the term RUDE"is I feel the entire reason we are all posting, from what others have said, is because of some people's rude and unkind remarks and unnecessary pictures, hence the term sheepish remarks. Do you feel you were rude? I am well past trying to seek help and getting (from some)rude, unkind, short and caustic remarks, I do not seek help from any one person and overall I am very happy here, however like the Hostess commercial use to say"HOW LONG CAN A GOOD THING LAST", THIS entire tone has set a bad taste in the overall picture of the idea of the COIN COMMUNITY "FAMILY"....

Umm....yeah.
Let's see here.
I've posted once in this thread and don't see ANY way that my post could have been misconstrued as rude. So I'll leave it at that. I tried to explain that if a coin is damaged, there's no reason to spend the time figuring out WHY it's damaged. HOW IS THAT RUDE?!?!?!?!?!?!?
By the way, I guess the response is "I am not on medication," to which the reply is, "You should be." Ha-ha...barrel of laughs.

DEAR CC, This is the bad taste I am referring to, this is becoming a 3rd grade communication skill exam, also if you honestly feel you were nothing but kind, concise and friendly why do you feel that you had to answer for your self. CHARLES, this is not an attack on your credentials, I would ask you to consider the manner in which you exhibit your skills, you were obviously right when you wrote that you were probably not liked 'by some', this being exhibited by the members you have given a good feeling to, when they simply were asking for help and in your "excepted by some" way of being yourself, also have obviously given them the wrong idea about this forum,IMO. There is no better time to think about the entire idea behind this forum,IMO, a learning stage for "all' to further their experience and education in the coin collecting forum,no matter how you "dont care"( as you have stated in this post ) in such a way that does not drive members from the forum, rather, to the forum. IF you feel that you were or are right about your "responses' then this has all been, IMO, a waste of time. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, BE WELL...

Im sorry,But,I agree with the original poster that Coppercoins didnt really need to weigh in on this,if he felt it was beneath him.....The poster was new and was just wondering what could have caused the damage and yes, some of us are interested in what caused it!!

I have been visiting here for 2 years now. My post may not reflect it. Might be because I just read over post and learn or wait for answers from experts. I am not gonna put blame on anyone here as far as this thread goes. In the time I have been here I have come to learn the personalities of some. CC is gonna tell it how he sees it and usually not say anymore. If some are offended by that I am sure that was not his intentions. I am sure he is a nice person. I know people in the "real" life that are just as rough. Actually more like sandpaper. I guess what I'm tryin to say is most of us are adults and should just not blow this way out of proportion. I work in a business to where if your feelings get hurt maybe you should have left them at home. Maybe this is the mentality the oil field has given me. I know at times my wife wishes I did carry my feelings with me more. I am sorry this is not my "fight". Maybe I should just keep my nose out of it. After I read the soap opera this thread has become just wanted to put my 2 cents in. If anyone cares. It almost looks as if some would like to see CC keep his fingers off the keyboard. I am glad to see opinions of people who I believe to be experts at least in a certain area. Again just my 2 cents. And I really hope CCs comments did not run anybody off. Would be a terrible thing. Again I am sure that is not what he wanted.

Morgans Dad....What is that supposed to mean that you find it interesting that I too want "KNOW" what caused the damage? If youre insinuating something, just say it!!
This forum is supposed to be about learning,But,It looks like some "Experts" here feel that complete newbies are a waste of time...I dont see where any question here should be out of bounds,If it is asked sincerely....
New Collectors should never be made too look stupid,so,that they quit asking questions...

Just stop it. Life is full of disappointments. Life is also full of different personalities. The only difference between someone telling you "No" and someone telling you "No, dear, but it will be ok" is a LOT of time and keystrokes. Neither he nor biokemist had a rude word in their posts here. I've NEVER seen them to BE rude. Quote: CC is gonna tell it how he sees it and usually not say anymore. Exactly. Ask a question, expect an answer. Around here, expect MANY answers, from novice and experienced alike. Chuck calls it as he sees it, and may not have time or inclination to put a blasted smiley at the end of the post to make someone feel better. Some may like that, some don't, but in the end, the only thing that matters is the truth. Take it. Yes, "it's how you say it". But it's also true: "Actions speak louder than words." He comes here, he answers questions from everyone, no matter what it costs him in time/headache/energy. He even tries to explain why which is instrumental in understanding the way things work in the numismatic world. Enough with the nitpicky drive-by slam comments. Have a Merry Christmas.

first things first, when I post I welcome and enjoy all input good or bad.i replyed to coopercoins because I felt he was slaming my post when he posted "theres a LOT of attention given to things here that arent errors" I didnt know if the coin was an error of some sort or if it was damage thats why I posted also he posted "dose it really matter what caused it" why sure it matters if it infact was an error. now with that being said, over 300 views almost 30 replys "WOW" never thought it would turn into one of the top post.what a soap opera I should get an award for top 10 post happy holidays to all even coopercoins

Quote: happy holidays to all even coopercoins Good attitude vud091 I have seen responses on this forum that I thought were a little harsh but the one in question here didn't strike me as such...it was just a matter-of-fact opinion. It's not that I agree with his answer, just that it didn't appear that he meant any harm. I do think it matters to some people what may have caused the damage in question, it helps them to learn what it is they are looking at and they will recognize it if they see it again. We can't all be experts and even the experts had to start somewhere....

MR. Finger, just a quick note;I was not pointing the finger at you( just kidding) I simply meant that I too was interested in the answer or reason to how the coin got to look this way.Believe me I was NOT insinuating anything, also believe me, I would state and do state just what I mean, this was in no way an insult to you, not my style .I too was wondering how this happened,HAS ANYONE LEARNED ANYTHING FROM THIS POST??. We all have our opinions and are entitled to just that, I happen to agree that I disagree with some, and I can accept that.I have read many statements on this forum and this thread is just a prime example of the fact we all do not agree on everything and that is just what an open forum, like this, is all about, just my equal opinion, BE WELL... PS; bmanofnbc, well said!! As the coin flips!!

Quote: New Collectors should never be made too look stupid,so,that they quit asking questions... Newbies are nowhere near discouraged nor made fun of here. Ever. I'm still a newbie and can attest to that! I ask waaaay dumb questions but am always treated with respect and sometimes even given links to information to help me learn. There is no body language here on the internet to read along with what is typed.. since the experts who answer questions do so from facts and not emotion, it would be good to keep that in mind to avoid mistaking the tone of their answer(s).
