coppercoins Pillar of the Community United States 7629 Posts	Posted 12/23/2008 10:12 pm That looks like an ex-encasement piece of some sort. It's not a mint-borne error. Something was done to crimp in the edges causing the metal to fan outward, which curled the rims inward making the coin appear to have higher relief. But it's not an error, it's damage.
