I was going through some pocket change and found this quarter. Looks interesting to me. There's a chip that looks like a rock either just setting or about to slide on the east slope of the mountain.
Can anyone tell me something about these.
My wife has another one where the rock (chip) is almost at the bottom of the slope.
She had me to have it graded for her. It came back at an AU58 this one is not in quite as good a condition as hers, so I'm skeptical about having this graded. Tell me what do your thoughts are on this.

Interesting. Did you wife's coin come back mentioning the chip on the slab's label? If so, can we see it please?

to CCF. Who graded it? It is a minor die chip.

Nice die chip placement--visually, sort of mimics the spalling, or exfoliation characteristic of granite in the Sierra Nevada.

OK Guys, sorry about that. I had several coin graded at the same time as this one (my Wife's Coin) and was not looking at it when I posted mine. When merclover asked to see it I did pull it out and learned that it was not the one graded at AU58.
That was her 1969-S Penny. The 2005 Quarter was AU55. I'll be more careful from now on.
I have posted picture of it here.
As you can see it was not attributed for the chip, I would like to know more about how to get that done.
Thanks for your comments.

" I had several coin graded at the same time".... I'd personally be interested to see all the other coins you had PCGS grade.

ANACS (from my understanding) is the most liberal regarding error/variety coins.

IMHO, it was not worth the costs in the first place. Having it re-holdered makes no sense to me. But of course it is all up to you, don't let me or anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't do. Just out of curiosity, what did it cost you to have it slabbed?
