Coin roll hunting. Mint-wrapped. Not the double die or floating roof but in good condition given the age. Thought I would share. Happy Wednesday!

I feel accomplished $25 later - lol!

FYI - for those who asked - mint-wrapped just means circulated (or uncirculated coins) - business strikes which are counted and wrapped by the mint.

You can also ask banks for customer-wrapped rolls which can be more interesting as someone could have manually wrapped an old coin collection. Some banks won't give them as they are not perfectly counted. But mine doesn't care.

That said - we've been finding interesting coins in both types. International coins from the Mint too. Their Quality Control is definitely lacking.

@KTCoin. I have hard time with the respect of your answer on this forum. Sorry, maybe I am a little bit different the others.

Coinfrog who it is maybe always the most polite here, John1 who has a huge experience and appreciate the findings and Rothery a strong pillar of this community, was very polite and fair with you. Then you just give an explication which it is a basic in collecting. When John1 ask about mint wrapped roll want to be sure it is mint wrap and not outsiders, not more not less.

I thing so you come here just to know presumptive sell price, not more. Here no one look for price we look for the coin it self, error, variety, mint default production and etc. the only nice sequence in your answer was we find in every mint productions new variations, the rest I consider impolite.

Now back to your coin. If you have a customer for 25 $ good for you. catalog say 25 for MS65R. yours is red yes, but it is on the best 50, far a way from 65. I say do not discourage your self, you can find a good one, I hope and wish you; but do not put here questions about prices, is not here the place, at most ask if it is a good business you done or it is a keeper.

Sorry I answer like this but I find do not understand our vision here. Maybe you say who I am. I am here from long time. Not answer? yes. I am collector and business man. Read almost every night yes, time to wrote: less. So it is like this, but remember, here I find very deeper field passionate guys, who are encyclopedia not only hobby guys.

Good luck man, hope the best for you. Hippocrates sad: " Bugs with bugs and moneys with moneys"

@ Silviosi...IMO, you mis-read KTCoins post/update...I think he/she means by "25 dollars" is that they went through 25 dollars worth of cent rolls and is happy with this find..

That's how I read it...

Do you need to know what the mint wrap mean?, and etc.?

Looking for my personality or personal, maybe I am different from the others. The moneys is not the point. I just over buy 200$ a coin just to full fil a hole. Later I hope to find a better one, I hope, god will help me.

My point was do not come to push down others and you to come over. Not more.

I deal with many kind of people (patients) 26 years and if you speak with me I can figure out 50-75% what you thing in that moment. I know I am a difficult person to deal with; but I like respect, recognize of own faults and celebrate the victory or accomplishment of others of your circle and outsiders also.

We are here for a passion, for a hobby who invade our blood, to learn and to develop ourselves more and more; not to be put on the corners or insult by x or y.

It is my vision. Coop here I respect at the high, it is an encyclopedia, I even confront him and I agreed (more or less with the back answer) or him accepted (more or less with the back answer, hope never be mad!). So are mean we are here to share our own opinion not to confront or insult.

That 's is. I just wrote what I perceived psychological and social.

Yes - I went through a $25 penny box from the bank. I'm sorry - I still need to complete the intro about myself. I have been soo busy with homeschool in between all of this.

My son is seven and inherited my late Aunt Sophie's collection. He fell in love with the idea of collecting and searching for valuables - rare and historical. I started researching to help him understand and then I caught the collecting bug too - lol! Right now we hit the bank maybe twice a week to try our luck and also order coins (mint and third party) to build our collection. We are constantly discussing proper storage, metal compositions, various strikes & finished, the grading scale, errors, and the historical significance of each mint date. He is working on his Coin Collecting merit badge from Cub Scouts. I'm thinking about getting certified at grading.

I am a civil engineer by training. I understand the general value of what I find but post when unsure or, in this case, just to share. Hope this explains a bit more.

FYI, "the Mint" does not roll any of their coins, with the exception of special offerings. "The Mint" upon minting coins bag them up and send them to independent companies who count the coins and wrap them (or roll them) to send to banks.

KTCoin I understand very well. No problem with. Misspelling or better say write the image of our mind and think at one point could take deafferents ways. We are humans and we are like this. Now I understand you. I was a little mad by the short cut to explain, not more. You state, been civil engineer so you must really 100% understand how the people perceive an short cut explanation which sound aggressive, in fact you have to deal with this every day. I own a construction company also and now I understand.

Welcome here. We do not care about prices (very volatiles thing), we care about the coins.

Certificate coins? Balance. I am collector. I do not buy the slab of X or Y TPC, I buy the numismatic artifact. If you pay the certification, calculate well the balance.

So I was hard with you I agree, but was the moment, and it is past.

KTCoin,
Can you post pics of the rolls before you open them or the wrappers after you have opened them?

@ silviosi:

No worries, A persons post gets read or taken wrong all the time. The mind is pre-wired to be defensive first. Heck a of my post I put up sometime ago was taken the wrong way and I got ripped for it. Then After a much longer explanation of the thing we were all posting about, everything was ok.

I don't like to be long winded when I post. Just short and sweet - nothing but the facts (as I see them). But doing that it is easy to read something into a post.

Well I already typed far too much for one post, so I must be moving on to other places.. TaTa
