I LOVE the design on this 1620 jeton. The details are also pretty impressive, but I am wondering if NGC would straight grade this, given the rim ding. They did straight grade my 1584 jeton, but this one seems to have a more "damaged" rim. What are your thoughts?

Looks like a beautiful coin in pretty high circulated grade. The rim mark looks tiny, more like a planchet flaw than post-mint damage. I'd expect NGC won't detail it based on this issue. Doesn't mean they won't find cleaning or some other problem!

Thanks! I sent it in through a local dealer here--this local dealer does not have much experience in French tokens (I certainly don't), but seemed to agree with you that this jeton is in a high circulated grade and has no obvious problems that would warrant a details grade--but again, as you said, the TPG companies have kicked the crap out of some of my coins before...
