Found this in change at the grocery store. I got excited when I noticed there appears to be doubling on the upper left of Column 1, inside Bays 1 and 2, and possibly in Bay 4. There is no listing of such a DDR for the 2000D. Is this a DDR, or die clash, or a possibly a combination of both? The coin has some scratches to the right of the Memorial and a ding at 8:00 on the REV---so it has seen better days. I can provide more images if it would be helpful. Thanks for taking a look.

Not a DDR, that is part of the design that shows the second row of columns.

JommyD, that's true. But there are other images of doubling lines--to the left of Column 1, as well as in the right of Bays 1 (next to Column 2), and in Bays 2 and 4. That isn't part of the design, is it?

Arrows are placed on the photo below to identify the areas where there appears to be doubling to the left of column 1, and in Bays 1, 2 and 4. Thanks for your review and comments.

If this were a 1994-1996 I might be that. But I feel that is not doubled columns. Looks more like stains. Note, they rise above the bays? Not level like stains would be. Note the doubling, is showing shadows. Stains don't. Here is the list of Wexlers extra columns/partial columns: 1994 1¢ WDDR-002 1994 1¢ WDDR-004 1994 1¢ WDDR-006 1994 1¢ WDDR-007 1994 1¢ WDDR-008 1994 1¢ WDDR-009 1994 1¢ WDDR-010 1994 1¢ WDDR-011 1994 1¢ WDDR-012 1994 1¢ WDDR-013 1994 1¢ WDDR-015 1994 1¢ WDDR-016 1994 1¢ WDDR-020 1994-D 1¢ WDDR-002 1994-D 1¢ WDDR-003 1994-D 1¢ WDDR-004 1995 1¢ WDDR-002 1995 1¢ WDDR-003 1995 1¢ WDDR-010 1995 1¢ WDDR-011 1995-D 1¢ WDDR-003 1995-D 1¢ WDDR-004 1995-D 1¢ WDDR-005 1995-D 1¢ WDDR-006 1996 1¢ WDDR-003 1996 1¢ WDDR-005 Seems like it ended in 1996 with more of the bar doubling, so the single squeeze dies were taking over in 1996. No Extra columns from Denver on the 1996-D cents.

Coop, I appreciate your input and information. Before photos were taken I did utilize a Xylene soak and used a Q-Tip to try to remove stains, and also gave the coin an Acetone bath. Some of the images could be stains, but others are raised and do provide some shadows particularly in Bays 1 and 2. The most striking image is the apparent doubling immediately adjacent to the top left of Column 1--- Upon further examination it is a raised image which has a very straight edge and shadowing, and is not a stain. Have you ever seen anything like this? I would appreciate any further thoughts you may have in this regard. Thanks!

I did some further research and came up with linear plating blisters or plating bubbles as the possible cause of the raised lines in the monument bays. Not sure if this is also what caused the doubling which appears to the left of Column 1.
