Hello,

Can you please look to see if these images show undocumented doubling on this coin?

Thanks

Looks like a normal coin. Look at the centers of the devices for doubled dies, not the outside edges of the devices. Looks like the DDR is starting to appear on the central area of the design:

Quote:

1986-D 1¢ WDDR-001 "Best Of" Variety
Description: A partial extra column can be found in the lower 8th Memorial bay.

After the 1994 examples showing the extra columns on a few years, then the bars started showing up on the center bays. That is when the single squeeze die started on cents.

So knowing the areas to look at, considering the years/die creation processes, you have to look in different areas for the DDRs on cents.

Hi Coop! Thanks! So, does this photo show the 1986-D 1¢ WDDO-001 on the obverse of the same coin shown in my OP?

Well the DDO shows only on some devices:

Quote:
1986-D 1¢ WDDO-001
Description: Class VI extra thickness shows on LIBERTY, IGWT, and the upper hair details.

I just check the other two sites and they don't show this one. But try getting images of the devices mentioned seen on his site. It all the doubling does not show exactly the same as on his site, then it might not be that die number. But lets see what images you have. Take them to match the ones on Wexler's site.

The problem is that the date is not showing the hub doubling, but a marker for the DDO. Your coin if it were that die, could be struck before/after the image. (His images are just showing the die scratches which you coin doesn't have. So it is no used for this search.
Try matching image of the other devices. Note 'WE'. That would be a better one to seen an image of.

Added: It is not a match. I was able to compare the WDDO-001 and your coin and the devices are not shaped the same. Note the side by sides below.
