1976 Silver Clad Quarter - Is It A P Or A Doubled Die Obverse / DDO S W/ A Misplaced Mintmark?

Numismatiac Valued Member United States 67 Posts	Posted 04/05/2021 1:47 pm Hey folks! I found this 1976 bicentennial quarter in pocket change the other day, and I'm not sure what I have here. The quarter weighs about 5.7 grams, and the obverse seems a bit skewed - this is especially noticeable when you look at the ears. I was hoping to get your opinions on whether minuscule S on the lower right side of Washington's head could be a misplaced mint mark, or do you think this is just a regular old Philadelphia minted coin that's silver-clad? ijn1944 Bedrock of the Community United States 19147 Posts	Posted 04/05/2021 3:04 pm I'm not seeing anything concerning the appearance (or not ) of a mint mark. Please post closer-in, sharp photos of that area. Also, consider taking a photo end-on of the coin (need to see the reeding). Thanks. I just uploaded two close-up pics of that area (one with more brightness than the other) Upon closer inspection, it looks like the phantom "s" may have just been a trick of the camera.
