Four Morgan dollars just arrived, this one is particularly nice. I hovered a red pen above the coin to show reflectivity in the fields, it's hard to tell in the photo, but basically you can see about 3/4 of the length of the pen, so the surfaces have tons of lustre. The reverse looks absolutely superb, the highest points of the wings are there.

What are your grade opinions?

the 80(S) are sharp and bold so the coin is avg for the year. breast is a little weak as well as a small area around the ear. luster, surface preservation and eye appeal are there. some minor ticks and rub on the obverse with what looks like reeding hit around the eye. should make MS65 possible PL borderline 66.

I'm closer to 64 as well, but a nice example for sure.
Rest in Peace

I'm at MS64 with a possible (probable) PL.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to submit this one to NGC to see if they give it a prooflike designation, the fields are very reflective and I'd say the reverse is definately PL but unsure on obverse I think it could be bolder in colour and contrast to the fields.

Properly graded, not a PL.
