spru Bedrock of the Community United States 12477 Posts	Posted 04/09/2021 7:38 pm I don't know if the tissue test works for 40% or not, but I would think a specific gravity test should give a fairly conclusive result. halfamind Pillar of the Community United States 1484 Posts	Posted 04/09/2021 8:23 pm If you know a jeweler, an XRF test should tell you. Weight of 40% silver Kennedy halves is not much above the clad issues — close enough that the tolerances overlap. Slicing between reeds with an Exacto blade might reveal the copper if it's being obscured by silver plating. Report this Post to the Staff
