1965 Washinton? Possible Wrong Plachet But Not Silver.

The quarter looked and felt odd to me for 1965 as its in pretty nice shape for a circulated coin. From my "free Google searches" Weight of 1965 uncirculated Quarter is 5.67 grams. This one "obviously circulated" weighs 5.93. From what I read tolerance should be 5.78 (if my fuzzy math is correct ) for max tolerance? Besides the very rare 1965 Silver planchet error, are there others ? Thanks in advance for your time. Report this Post to the Staff

Numisma Pillar of the Community United States 4963 Posts	Posted 04/11/2021 7:49 pm According to this post, tolerance is +/- 0.19 g, so up to 5.86 g is considered normal. http://goccf.com/t/251134#2113155 I don't think 0.07 g over is extraordinary for a lightly circulated coin. You can also calibrate your scale again for extra precision; I used to have the exact same one and I know it can vary by a few hundredths. Report this Post to the Staff
