Thanks wasted! I got lucky I guess as I've only learned about this a couple months ago and searched about 2 rolls worth at best!

that is a nice "out in the wild" find,
even being circulated it has value over face $2.
congratz!

Congrats on your find. I've searched hundreds of rolls of loonies and toonies, and have found several 2012 pre-security toonies but never any loonies. Good luck.

Oh man that is concerning! I will have to attack some rolls of loonies in the future.

Nice find on the Toonie but that Loonie is going to be a bit harder to find, good luck.

Thanks Mcshilling! I wonder why that is if the mintage was apparently over 2m for the loonie from what I gather. Either way the search continues ofcourse :)

Mcshilling is right, the loon will be harder. I had to buy mine. Never bumped into one in the wild.
Sammeli is right too, but you can look that story up.

I bought one for my book and found 2 roll hunting.
Now if memory is right that transport was on Hwy11 near Timmons I think , they lost a lot and had to bring in a magnet crane to pick them out of the snow.

Finding in loose change could take forever. I found what I needed quicker by going into a bank and buying 10 or 15 rolls at a time and then looking through them. Still no guarantees but I found what I wanted in a couple months of doing that every couple weeks. It also gave me a chance to upgrade other $1 and $2 coins as my collection of these denominations is not uncirculated, other than ones I had to buy from sets.
