I'm not a coin collector but a translator preparing a text about old Russian coins.
So, a Russian text I'm working on has several passing references to:
1) 15th-century Russian coins that, unlike other Russian coins from that period, carry no reference to any particular prince. The author calls them "anonymnye" (anonymous) coins. Is there are a special term for such coins in English? Would it be OK to call them just that - "anonymous coins"?

to the CCF!

'anonymous' is a commonly used term in English for coins where the current ruling personality, such as a prince, king or emperor, is not referred to on the coin, and can also be the case for vacant periods between reigns.
In these sorts of cases, just note the date denomination and Mint.

I'm not sure that "anonymous coins" conveys in English the author's intent and that term does not have any meaning to me personally outside of the context of the association of era coins that reference a Monarch versus those of the era that do not. Based on what is in your post, it seems the author may have wanted to classify them as you did, that is "non-Monarch specific coins" or maybe better as "no Monarch reference" coins.
