D'oh, Don't Know If I Can Prove That It Is (1956 D Cent)

CentSation Pillar of the Community United States 713 Posts	Posted 04/16/2021 9:24 pm 1956-D 1OM-1. It is a latter stage version and a bit toned. I am using the obverse and reverse pics from the ebay auction. and the main reason I bought it is because it has an FS#. The MM location is correct, two of the three markers are there, but I cannot truthfully say that I can see the 'S' MM. Not only that, but there is a tiny tangent coming off the tail of the 9 that doesn't show up in others' pics (or descriptions) of the variety - it looks like it might even have a split lower serif. http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/dies...ie_state=lds * Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Altec12 Valued Member United States 173 Posts	Posted 04/16/2021 10:33 pm After looking at Tropicalbats pic, posted by coop, I can see a very faint S in the same place as the green one between the 1 and 9. I think I can also see the marker above the "Y" in Liberty, also faint. The other 2 markers are there just kind of hard to see in photos. I dont believe that is a split serif on the lower part of "D" Thanks for sharing it with us. Report this Post to the Staff

Then I could check to see of the mintmarks match up or not. (If the mintmarks are not a match, then it is not coins from the same die) Report this Post to the Staff
