I found some examples on this site and it looks similar to the 1942 ears. I can't seem to find anything else. Is it worth sending it to get verified if you think it is a dbl ear? Opinions please.
Kind Regards

I personally have never heard of a 1917 LWC demonstrating a doubled ear. There is one very major DDO 1917 variety listed on all the external websites but it strictly deals with doubling on the obverse date and motto. Just my opinion but it looks like this 104 year old Lincoln Cent has just been well circulated (still in decent shape for its age though) which has simply caused flattening to the ear and hair details making them flat and as a result it makes them look enlarged. I'm not seeing a doubled ear on this one.

This is from Coppercoins.com and is what to look for on this year Cent. You can see the doubling on the date but there is also pronounced doubling on IGWT as well.

I have never heard of one either, hence sending it in. The doubling is on the inner ear, not the lobe. It is just odd. Perhaps nothing.
Thank you.

There is an example that does affected the inner ear, but not that year. It is on the Doubled ear chart below.

I see what you're saying with what looks like the 1942 doubled ears with doubling to the north inside the ear. But looking at PCGS images, I think that might be the normal design for the year: https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin...7-1c-bn/2495

Unless I'm looking at the wrong spot?

Wow, I saved the site! Thank you very much Tanman2001! I looked for varieties but could not find them. And Coop, the similar ones I found were on a post from you on this site. I try to do my research first, and thought I stated that, so you don't have to repeat your valuable information, or waste your time. I must need to clarify myself better because I do not want everybody repeating themselves. I have many of your valuable pictures downloaded for research Coop.

I appreciate your time and energy though. That is what makes this site fabulous!
Kind Regards,
Deborah
