A fun find. I have a box with 50-60 Mexican error coins, and was looking through them for anything I might have missed. This 1979 off center 10 peso coin had glinting on the letters, so I used a glass and caught this nice, sharp double die. Check the pictures. The last picture shows really nice doubling on the profile, eye, ear, mm and letters.

I agree that this one has really strong doubling. I'm thinking that the rotation of the dies in comparison to the planchet was off as well.

Thanks to all of you. I really appreciate your feedback, and am happy you also found it to be a great example of a dual error coin. Coin Dude, you certainly have my permission to use the images. We should talk, as I have been collecting errors and varieties for 30 years, and have hundreds of them. Bill.
