Nice coin.If it wasn't for the obvious wear on the hair it would be UNC condition.Everywhere else is fine.So AU55 B12

Pretty! great luster, bit of wear on the hair, yet outside wing feathers on reverse only with trace of wear.
AU 55?

I have to say that there is too much wear on the hair for an AU designation. I'm leaning towards EF45.

LOL Superdave, I forgot about the "cheat". I figured low MS grade due to luster and high relief mushiness but I was off a bit

Peace dollars are one of the hardest coins to grade :for me. maybe its because I like Morgan dollars much better. Iwould call that coin XF.

I forgot about the "cheat" and looked it up after you guys were talking about it. I won't post the grade here because I don't want to ruin it for everyone, but I have to say that I think PCGS overgraded this coin....[:0]

I couldn't agree more. Peace dollars completely escape my (limited) grading skills.

Yes the grade is AU55. A thing to keep in mind regarding the hair over the ear on the obverse; all these coins have such poor strikes, especially on the obverse, so what is perceived as wear, on the 1921 is actually a terrible strike. Even the highest grades are weak in this area. The coin has clean surfaces and a pleasant creamy luster.

I'd really like to know what you guys think of the 28 Peace dollar I posted below. This is a pretty important date and so, if ANA is to be believed, the coin is supposed to receive greater scrutiny than common dates and even a raising of standard.
