Word is the first (and second?) release of the UK alphabet series saw very few released via the PO with the bulk being flogged at inflated prices on e-commerce platforms by RM employees. I hope at least RAM will sell the UNC sets at a reasonable price.

Hello from the US of A...if I'm understanding this right, these coins are meant to be distributed by the/your post office in change to customers? and now are being sold early on ebay?...If I'm correct, would this not be considered theft ?

I don't think its regarded as theft but is definitely illegal under various Govt. legislations.
I've been collecting Coins since my School days in the 1960's and even back then there was always a smartie trying to gain an advantage,Mint sport and corruption was rife at the Mints.
Back in late 1965 many Bank employees and major dealers had access to Decimal currency Months before their official release.

Have my doubts about that. It is a bit like scalping. As far as I'm aware, it is systems introduced by the ticketers and venues that reduced scalping, not some legislative change from parliament. And even if it was against some law, it still needs to be enforced. The boys and gals in blue have more important issues than coin profiteers.
