The mint marks on 1985 S Pennies I can see online look different than the S mint mark on the penny I have, which is enclosed in a mint set so excuse the poor lighting effects.

Is this anything special? Tried researching online and didn't find much...

Coop or John1, if you see this post, could you check out the 1986 Liberty Dollar coin I posted in the Commemorative Coin Forum earlier today when you get a chance? I'm not sure if you browse all the forums or stick with Modern Coin Forums...

As shown on the link of the mintmark styles, you can see the proof example has the frosting on the area just like your coin. (MMS-013) That is normal.

I had no idea that variety vista had a list of mintmarks like that, I've only seen the RPM's, DDO, DDR. You saved me a lot of unnecessary posts in the future. Thank you both!!
