I believe I found a floating roof penny but would appreciate verification.

@cc, yes perhaps a whisper left remaining but seemingly pretty close. If you take pics before putting the coins in 2x2s, then it is a bit easier to see.

It would not allow me to post another photo, so here is a better photo of the roof that can hopefully confirm my first floating roof penny.

These are just die events. The die was polished and removed some of the devices. They are easy to find some years.

@cc, I know you tried to post that other pic hear and couldn't but best practice is to open only one thread per coin. NO big deal though and it gave me a chance to try out @bobby's "merge threads" functionality. When I blow up your pics, it looks like a tiny bit of the upright is visible to the left. Of course, save the coin if you want to--its a good example of the die being given new life following a clash.

Not a floating roof. It is always best to remove coins from 2x2 holders before taking photos.

I agree with all of the above, no floating roof. Classic examples show absolutely no connecting lines. Keep searching!

The mintmark location for the ones listed on PCGS is like this:

They stop grading these as they are very common to find. I know you would never see me offering nothing above face value. They are just a die event, I'm a die variety collector.

Second what Coop said. Even if it were a "floating roof," these are not rare and are of very little numismatic interest.
