Limited knowledge about copper but I generally loves the 1858s. This looks like a decent AVF to me...maybe VF20? Most of the laurel wreath is there and the tone and balance are quite nice. Reverse is a little weak... not sure whether that's wear or the strike...

I'll say VF-20 full vine, 16 stem, with PVC corrosion through Gratia and Regina which has been cleaned up quite a bit. I just don't know why the "green death" affects so many 58's and '59's. Depending on who you send it to, it may be a "detail" coin because of the green/black corrosion and cleaning, but ICCS may let it go.

okie, as usual, you do not miss a beat. I was a bit concerned about the vine as it is slightly damaged but not broken. these gems are hard to find... in any grade. so a 20 would be very fine with me. I have another in about a 40. thanks guys H

Hey 47P7, how is this coin oriented? Is it medal or coin rotated? One variety is more valuable than the other one...

Agree with VF20. Is your other one the same rev. die. There's only four dies with a full vine, one of them is quite rare....in my mind it's rare.
Cheers, Bill

Thanks for the pictures. Looks like they were minted with the same die pair. The first one is a great looking coin for sure.
Cheers, Bill
