Came across this one last weekend and I had to go grab the reference materials !
Just enough legend to determine it as an OPTIMO PRINCIPI type but what on earth was going on here ?
A naked man with one knee pinning a seated woman and his right hand grabbing her by the throat ?
Why on Earth would an "Optimo Principi" like Trajan advertise something like that ?
Danuvius (the Danube) with cloak billowing has his knee holding down Dacia while clutching her by the throat with his right hand
Dated to AD 104 which would place it between the two Dacian Wars of Trajan with the second war coming the following year AD 105
Trajan had already built his famous bridge and the great river was now under Roman control
