Hi all,

I've done a little research on this and understand that they were struck over any number of years. Is there a standard weight? I'm trying to enter it into my inventory and am not sure what I would use for the actual silver weight or value. And of course if you have any other information I would be happy to hear it.

Thanks,

My question about these relates to Austrain Thalers that really are from 1780. Is there any way to differentiate between the real deal and the vast quantities of restrikes?

As far as I know you cannot tell which year it was minted with any degree of certainty, unless the coin has been in the possession of collectors with a recorded history ever since it was fresh from the mint.

Since I am very much attached to numbers and like the given year to be correct, I have not included this coin in my collection even though it is very nice too look at.
