My first post to the forum and a novice to the hobby. Images are of a circulated 1984 Lincoln Cent. The "US" in "TRUST" appear abnormal as do the numerals 84 in the date. Is this wear damage or a DDO variant?
Welcome to coin collecting! Your 1984 cent has seen a lot of circulation damage (circulation flattening on the US) and is not a DDO or any type of variety unfortunately. Notice the wear on the rim of your coin where it is worn down to a shiny silvery zinc color signifying a lot of wear and tear.
When this happens, what used to be there, is not longer there. The clue as to a lot of circulation? Note the rims on your coin? Note how the copper plating has worn off of them. Just a spender now.
You're on the right track since it seems you're using reference sites. This one is just circulation flattening, but you'll find the real deal if you keep looking!
