Heritage Auctions - This 1999-P Susan B. Anthony dollar is a bold mint error. This coin was triple struck with the second strike 25% Off Center. It also must have been set aside right away and survived in very nice condition: PCGS MS66.

1999-P-$1-Susan-B.-Anthony-Dollar-Triple-Struck,-Second-Strike-25%-Off-Center-PCGS-MS-66

This coin was struck once as normal, than struck twice more off center toward 9 o'clock. It is part of the fabulous Errorpalooza Collection, which includes many great error coins in the special Error Showcase Auction 60210!

Lot No. 92378 I July 15 Error Coinage Showcase Sale No. 60210

Check out certified SBA errors on ebay.

That is cool! Wonder if it came out of the hoard that Littleton Coins bought in the 90's? If I recall correctly, it was larger than the "Big Sky Hoard" of Ike dollars they bought in 2011. I think it was close to $1 million in coins maybe more.

Jbuck might know about the Big Sky Hoard: https://www.littletoncoin.com/shop/News-2011-12-05

I can't ever remember seeing TPG holders with Big Sky or the SBA hoard coins in them. I can't seem to find anything on the SBA hoard they had, it was big news at the time in the coin weekly newspapers.

My guess is either there are die diagnostics, or more likely it was pulled form a bag of them and obvious from that, That should only apply if the entire bag was sent in to PCGS still sealed though, and that's kind of doubtful, so it's got to be a die diagnostic they can tell. My Two Cents anyways. I can't tell the area where the mint mark is on the left side over her right shoulder is not visible.
