How close could this be to a 1881 ssn. I know not good photos but going by sellers pictures.

I've had many 1881's that I had ordered on ebay that I thought would be single serif but, in-hand, they turned out not to be. I think that, at the angle the pics were taken or the lighting, it made it look like the right side of the left serif was missing, but it wasn't. Sometimes, the right side of the foot was just weakly struck, since all the Obv ('81-84")1's except one were overstruck with full serif N's or with a corrective punch. If there is anything showing on the right side of the serif left foot of both N's, it' not a SSN. With all the thousands of Vicky cents I've had or found, I've only discovered 2 of them, neither of which I still own.

Good luck. Even with the crappy photos, it looks like something peeking out the right side of both feet.

Here's a photo from the ebay listing, I think.
Smaller, but clearer.
I don't think it is a SSN, but for your sake I hope I'm wrong.

Yes I see it now. How do you guys get better photos than the listings. You amaze me. I think the 1882 is a c1 /c2. So I'm happy anyway

I wouldn't feel to bad about it Sammeli, I think we have all purchased 1881 hoping to be a SSN coin.

The coin is another harder one to find so still a reward for you, is there other DP letters on it?
