I weighed this LWC it is 2.1g...very hard to read...looking for insight...it is too light and thin to be just damage

Not if it's an acid damage coin, and it looks like that to me. I have a few just for reference.

Severe corrosion from ? could have been dropped in acid or buried in acidic soil conditions.

It doesn't matter what the date is, the coin is not a premium. It was altered. Just a damaged coin.

I can see how that looks like some of the struck through die caps that have been shared lately, but agree with the experts

But the big differences between a struck through a capped die and this coin is that the reverse is not normal. The acid treatment all both sides and the weight as well. Just a junk pile Wheat cent now.

Environmental or intentional acidic corrosion. Interesting piece, but worthless numismatically.
