The coin is pretty messed up and I had trouble getting decent pictures, but I believe this is doubling under the ear?

How on earth would you clean something like that? Would acetone work, or would it be unsafe due to zinc?

With a cent like that, acetone will not help a terrible lot. Keep it til a better one comes along and set it free.

it's a goner...but a quick dip in acetone (2 to 3 minutes) would remove any oils or grime, after it has had time to completely dry 2x2 it...and hope a better comes along, they are out there, keep looking and good luck...
