Came across this 1926 Sixpence in a pile of junk silver and am trying to estimate grading.

Am I being overly optimistic with XF?

I'll say VG/F details (cleaned).

The band of the crown is worn through, so VG.

almost VG is where this happens to be.

To get to F with an Oz Sixpence, all of the main design features have to have full relief height above the fields.

If there any worn flat areas, VG or less has to be the right grade.

Being .925 fine silver there is over $2 worth of silver in this coin. If found in a pile of junk coins for less than this price, you have still done OK.

Yes you are.

This coin is very worn and been cleaned, hence why it's shininess may unwittingly make less experienced collectors think its high grade.

The level of wear on George suggests a high VG level coin and the wear on the obverse has the roo and emu flat. Advance Australia is visible but weak. However it is more worn than the other side.

Overall - goodVG - VG10
