I've had this coin since I was a teen but I don't know much about it, it's in such poor shape that it's hard to identify anything. I think the cross looks similar to how it looks on certain jetton coins, with what could be fleur de lis between the arms of the cross. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be? How old it could be? Thank you in advance.

Thank you @Spence for your reply and for your site recommendations!
I have seen a few jettons that seem similar, just like the one you linked, but none that seems to be exactly the same as this one. The cross takes up a large surface compared to many other jettons, and the fleur de lis seems to be pointed outwards instead of inwards. I've seen that with some jettons, but they all seem to either have a small cross or a very big shield on the other side.
It would be cool to know the approximate time it was made, but maybe that's asking too much.
This coin is quite small, only about 19 mm. I wish I could read the text that's around the shield.

Maybe there are many different kinds of jettons around, and they're probably not as easy to date and identify as coins. I didn't think about that.
Anyway, thanks for the help!

@marl, I recommend checking back here periodically as sometimes it takes a little while for folks to weigh in. It is a shame that none of the inscription is legible.

Maybe it's hopeless, but I'm giving this one a little bump.

I don't know if this will help, but the triple cross shows up often on jetons minted in Tournai, though I have not seen one from there with fleur-de-lis in the angles.
While this place is now in France, it was not part of France when these tokens were minted, so using Tournai in your search criteria might be helpful. (I could not find a match either).

Thank you, I've not been able to find any exact match even when adding that to the search. Hard to believe that this one wouldn't be *somewhere* on the internet already. maybe they just made a few and then decided it was lame (?), haha, I don't know xD

A long time later. I'm not sure if this exact jetton was up on this site back when I made this topic, but now it is, and I think it might be the same kind. http://www.colchestertreasurehuntin.../jettons.htmThe fifth coin down on the left after the headline "French 'shield of France' type - 3 Lis in a shield and '4 Lis in a quadrant'" I can't really see what is in the shield of the one I got, but the back of it looks like it could be the same. Will try to copy the image url from that site and insert below. http://www.colchestertreasurehuntin...jetton4f.jpg
