I purchased this coin from an older dealer who had sent it to ANACS back in 1986 for grading. They gave it a split grade of MS-60/MS-63 since Liberty's cheek was baggy while the reverse was more free of marks. I sent the coin to PCGS and they called it MS-61 which I think is strict but fair. In this one case it appears that current PCGS standards haven't deviated too much from what ANACS was doing 20+ years ago.

To me, split grading is just as valid as "worst side tells" grading. In fact, it's probably the better practice for "sight unseen" purchasing, when you're working with a TPG you can trust. This coin is an ideal illustration of the advantage of split grading; if, by some chance, you're displaying your collection reverse-out (or displaying pairs) it would be a less expensive way to get a more expensive coin.
