Looking for clarification if this is Broadstruck or Wide Die error. Or maybe something else.

The coin is not round and is wider than a normal penny.

This looks like PMD. You can see the scratches from where the coin was stretched (however doesn't really matter) after the coin left the mint. Reminds me of the coins we used to put under passing trains as a kid, only they flattened the whole thing.

Looks like a sidewalk surfer altered this one.

If it is PMD why is there not damage on both sides?

Someone saw the coin, ran and jumped onto the coin on the sidewalk, skidding to a stop, and the coin was the looser. Thus only one side of the coin was altered.

Just damage, possibly deliberate.

There is damage on both sides, look at the rim.

Your coin is PMD. What is a wide die error?

What is a "wide die error"? Sounds like something you just made up.

There is an issue with a nickel that was swelling outwards. It is called design Creep.
http://www.error-ref.com/design-creep/

Quote:
Die Deterioration/Deformation Errors:
Design Creep
Definition: In this rare die deformation error, the die face expands during the press run. In lateral view, it comes to resemble the battered handle of a rock chisel. Eventually the die face expands beyond the working face of the collar (presuming the hammer die is involved). The result is that the face of the coin struck by the deformed die lacks the design rim and the peripheral design elements are cut off.

Got Wide Die Error from this link. Sorry it was Wide Collar.
http://lincolncentsonline.com/error3.html

Wide Collar
A wide collar error occurs when a coin has been struck inside the collar, but has a larger diameter than normal.

This error can be easily overlooked and is usually only caught when trying to fit a coin in a special holder or coin tube. This can happen as a result of the collar becoming worn from over use, accidently bored out too much, or possibly from a wrong collar being used.

Well there you go.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was "wide die errors" on Etsy and ebay, so I was wondering if it came from that misinformation. Sam, don't sweat it. We all make mistakes and we appreciate you owning up.

Back to your coin, what you have is simply post mint damage ( PMD), sorry. Not every coin is an error coin. Keep searching!

Some are turned into what looks like an error. But you can fake gold with plating, but it really doesn't make it real gold. Sometimes looks are deceiving.
