So I found this just now in a box of culls and don't know if I should celebrate or cry. A rare RPM on a fairly high grade coin...with a wicked cleaning. I suppose I'll take the positive side and celebrate actually finding one of these in a good grade, and ignore the cleaned part. I only paid 20 cents for it so really, it's all good! 1923-S/S Lincoln Wheat cent RPM-001

Nice one! This does seem to be exceedingly rare, I think this is the first example I've ever seen of this rpm.

The RPM really jumps off the coin! Fabulous!

For 20¢, that seems like a pretty good deal @tb.

For 20¢ I would take the win! Probably won't add one of these to your collection cheaper, even if it has a bad cleaning. A strong and easy to spot RPM, congrats!

Thanks folks! It is always nice to nail a toughie in any condition and this one is pretty darn easy to see.

Yeah those are always bitter sweat. But a find is a find. And it has good home now.

Congrats on a great RPM in spite of the cleaning.

Could be. This coin has a smattering of minor lamination bits so I was kind of attributing the date goofiness to that.
