I recently came across one of the fake toonies where the bears food has a split in it, the coin isn't made with the same metal as a normal toonie so they sound alot different when you drop of flick it. Today I found a toonie that does not have the slit in the front right paw, but sounds nothing like a normal toonie. How do I tell if this new toonie is an error or a fake?

Do an archive search on this subforum. The twoonie fakes have been discussed many times with excellent photos and ID hints.

If you look at my other post from today there is a photo of the toonie I found in question. There is no slit in the paw but it's definitely not the normal metal content of a toonie
