@hth, a little south of Nimitz Beach Park on the SW coast of Guam there is a prominence with a series of coves further south. Assisted by some circulation marks, this is a fascinating case of Pareidolia.

It is impossible to have an extra letter appear on a coin (unless it is a dropped letter) during the striking of the coin. What you have is a mark that looks somewhat like an S. Nothing special there.
The apparent 'S' -- not a minting error. Appears to be a result of circulation rubs/scuffs/dings. A case of Pareidolia. Pareidolia also plays into the shape of GUAM on the reverse--an interesting collection of hits and dings.
Glare in the photos makes it a little difficult to see subtle details.
