Not much of a premium for the 98,and that condition doesn't help. The 1999 WAM is the biggie.

That was the best that I could do on this coin.I believe that this coin is a 1998 wide A M penny. What would be the best Way to clean it. Can try other coins to see which does the best cleaning job

One of the first things we all learn when we start coin collecting is Never clean your coins . You can ruin them and they can lose their value . Acetone is ok , it would not hurt the coin if just a soak without cleaning tools .

In my opinion is a Wide AM. Now: Acetone is good against polymers or other sort of glue. Isopropyl alcohol is a good alternative to methyl alcohol against any sort of fat(inclusive new finger prints). I do not thing this coin is worth to be restored.

let me see if I can help with a larger pic - an image obtained from the original one.

It may be a little pixelated but you can see it. So no complaints if you please...
