Do a comparative ping tone test against a known genuine .925 sterling silver Half Crown.

Coins pictured look a little 'pasty' indicating that they may be fake, but that may also be due to the lighting. Hence the reason for the abovementioned test.

Assuming they are sound, and they look alright to me, the 1897 probably around £15 as it has quite a lot of wear. The 1894 is much better - maybe £25 to £30.

Agree they have that all-too-evenly-toned look of fakes, but the ring test should tell. Do you have the weights?

It is hard to say with these two. I think the 1894 is a fake because I see that colouring (Yellowy) on many recent Chinese fakes, where the coins are aged.

I think your 1897 could be real, however in that condition (G to VG) it's only worth melt value (Around $10 USD).

Some friendly advice for you in the future.

In future, you need to do a ping test on coins.

Magnet test, - silver is not magnetic, if the coin is magnetic its fake.
Look at details on the coin - if it looks vague or poorly defined - its could be fake.

Cost of your coins, decent silver coins should cost at least melt value and often more. If you are paying $1 or so (I guess about 10 or less new shekels (Not sure of what currency is used in Palestine, are you in West Bank or Gaza?) - its likely fake)

How you got them (Coin shop, collector are usually good, ebay or a market stall are less good).

Never, ever, ever clean or attempt to clean a coin, no matter how worn or dirty it is. Any cleaning ruins the contexct, can cause damage and even undermine the chemical composition of a coin.

Use the numista catalogue to find out more information about your coins - its entirely FREE. - https://en.numista.com/

For stuff that really stumps, you feel free to come here and even keep all of your questions in a separate thread. Most of us are friendly, but sadly a few members like to get arrogant, ignore them.

After all if you don't ask questions, you will never learn about the fun of coin collecting!

1897 looks 100% genuine, toning and wear is typical of coins of this era.

1894 - check it with a silver test. May be perfectly OK but does have somewhat unusual toning, similar to Chinese forgeries, but this could be due to photography though.

The flawless surfaces and cameo toning of the 1897 just seem too good to be true.

i would say not fake as well due to toning and wear, as the toning doesn't look painted on. yeah the 1894 looks alot better.
